Innovation Academy Overview

Innovation Academy is a public magnet STEM high school in Alpharetta and is part of the Fulton County School System. This high school opened its doors in 2021 and currently serves about 1,500 students in the Alpharetta area. 

FCS Innovation Academy (FCSIA) offers students a wide range of clubs and student-run organizations to join. Some of these student groups include Artificial Intelligence Club, Science Olympiad, Girls Who Code, and Astronomy. 

Academic Summary

Innovation Academy is one of the most competitive high schools in the state. According to Niche.com, FCSIA ranked as the 6th best magnet high school in Georgia. This school offers three career pathways: Health Science, Engineering, and IT. 

FCSIA offers 27 Advanced Placement (AP) and college-level courses. 996 students at Innovation Academy took AP exams with 90% scoring a 3 or higher. For the class of 2025, FCSIA students scored a 1323 SAT score on average, significantly higher than the state average of 1054!

Despite being a new school, Innovation Academy has received numerous school accolades in a variety of fields. In the 2022-23 school year, FCSIA was named an AP STEM School and an AP School of Distinction. In the Technology Student Association, Innovation Academy were top 10 finalists in 9 different events with two students qualifying for nationals.
