Alpha Loop

The Alpha Loop is a multi-use trail system that aims to connect Downtown Alpharetta, Avalon, Northwinds Summit, and North Point Mall. The path features 12-foot wide paths and offers a variety of scenic views. The project aims to support the community and economy of Alpharetta by improving the walkability of the city and transforming how Alpharetta citizens and visitors are able to navigate the city.

The planning of the Alpha Loop construction began in 2016. By April 2020, the first section of the Alpha Loop was completed, connecting Avalon and Downtown Alpharetta. On June 1, 2024, the City of Alpharetta opened a new section of the Alpha Loop connecting Old Milton Parkway to NorthWinds Parkway. In the coming years, the Alpha Loop will expand to connect to the North Point Area, existing trails like the Big Creek Greenway, the proposed MARTA Bus Rapid Transit Station on GA 400 near North Point Mall, and jobs centers in the city of Alpharetta.
