Newtown Park is located in Johns Creek on Old Alabama Road and offers a wide range of outdoor amenities with different recreational and athletic activities. Just a 10-minute drive from Alpharetta, this park offers an opportunity to explore the neighboring community of Johns Creek.

Newtown Park sits close to Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Cauley Creek Park. The park’s amenities ensure there is something to do for everyone with baseball fields, pickleball and tennis courts, picnic pavilions, walking trails, and more!

Furthermore, Newtown Park offers youth programs for a variety of sports. The Newtown Recreation is a non-profit, self-funded athletic organization serving the city of Johns Creek and the broader North Fulton Community. The organization manages all youth recreation programs in the park including soccer, flag football, tennis, t-ball, softball, baseball, and lacrosse.

Visitors are able to reserve or rent the park’s pavilions, pickleball courts, tennis courts, community clubhouse, and ampitheater.

Newtown Dream Dog Park

The dog park in Newtown Park is considered one of the top dog parks in the area. Located at the entrance of Newtown Park near the basketball courts, the dog park is a fenced one-acre area with a variety of activities for dogs! The area includes sprinklers for the dogs to play in, obstacles to navigate including hoops, tunnels, and a bridge, artificial turf, and more! The dog park also offers separate areas for small and large dogs. Dog owners can enjoy the benches and shaded areas available in the dog park.

The dog park is open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM and is closed every Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM for maintenance.

Newtown Park Amphitheater

The Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater is located next to the main soccer field near the back of Newtown Park. The amphitheater is 10,600 square feet and offers a spacious venue for a variety of performances and events. Visitors can either sit under the ampitheater or on the terraced lawn. The ampitheater seats up to 400 people, while the terraced lawn suits up to 1,000 people.

Newtown Park Events

Throughout the year, Newtown Park holds a wide range of events from concerts to seasonal celebrations! Johns Creek’s Summer Concert Series is among the most popular events at the park and free for visitors to enjoy. There are food trucks at this event, and all seating is first-come, first-served. Some other popular events at Newtown Park include Breakfast With Santa, Movies at the Park, and 4th of July fireworks!
