Alpha Loop
About the Alpha Loop
The Alpha Loop is a multi-use trail system that aims to connect Downtown Alpharetta, Avalon, Northwinds Summit, and North Point Mall. The path features 12-foot wide paths and offers a variety of scenic views. The project will support the community and economy of Alpharetta by transforming how Alpharetta citizens and visitors are able to navigate the city.
Construction Progress
The planning of the Alpha Loop construction began in 2016. By April 2020, the first section was completed, connecting Avalon and Downtown Alpharetta. On June 1, 2024, the City of Alpharetta opened a new section connecting Old Milton Parkway to Northwinds Parkway. In the coming years, the path will expand to connect to the North Point Mall area to existing trails like the Big Creek Greenway. Also, the trail will connect to the proposed MARTA Bus Rapid Transit Station on GA 400 near North Point Mall and job centers in the city of Alpharetta.
