Alpharetta and Old Milton County History Museum
Take a trip to the Alpharetta and Old Milton County History Museum to see the evolution of Alpharetta to becoming known as one of the best cities to live in the South. This historic museum is located in Downtown Alpharetta and offers free admission and guided tours for guests. The museum is open year-round and operates during these hours: Monday – Thursday from 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday by appointment. The Alpharetta and Old Milton County History Museum features photos, historic items, and even interviews from people who lived in historic Alpharetta!
Alpharetta Arts Walking Tour
Another must-see free attraction of Alpharetta is the Alpharetta Arts Walking Tour located around Downtown Alpharetta! This walking tour features about 20 art sculptures with both permanent and temporary art pieces. Many sculptures from the walking tour’s permanent collection highlight Alpharetta’s music scene. Big Creek Greenway
The Big Creek Greenway is an approximately 8-mile trail to help Alpharetta residents maintain a healthy lifestyle and have quicker access to Alpharetta’s major roads and attractions. The trail consists of a 12-foot wide concrete path, perfect for walking, biking, and jogging. The Big Creek Greenway can be accessed from the Alpharetta YMCA, Marconi Drive,Haynes Bridge Road, North Point Mall, and Kimball Bridge Road. This free attraction has future plans to link to the Forsyth County trail system, allowing the community to be more connected to Alpharetta and its surrounding areas!
Waggy World Paw Park
Bring your puppy to the free Waggy World Paw Park located in Wills Park! There are two separate play areas for small and large dogs, and each section provides your dog a space to play without a leash. This dog park features obstacles for your dog to navigate and plenty of shaded areas and benches. Waggy World Paw Park is the perfect spot for your puppy to get some exercise and meet other dogs in the Alpharetta community! Walk of Memories
Walk of Memories honors United States war veterans from Georgia and is free to visit. This memorial is located near Wills Park and features a path with about 8,000 bricks with the names of Georgians who served our nation. Visitors will also find an exhibit including a helicopter, army tank, 40mm Mk. 1 twin gun mount, and an Air Force T-33 Jet.
Brooke Street Park
Brooke Street Park is located in Downtown Alpharetta near Alpharetta City Hall. This free attraction consists of art sculptures from the Alpharetta Arts Walking Tour, a lawn, a reflection garden, and its own arboretum. The lawn at Brooke Street Park holds many free events and concerts throughout the year that attract large crowds of Alpharetta residents. Stop by Brooke Street Park to enjoy the arboretum with springtime flowering trees and a picnic on the lawn for free in the heart of Downtown Alpharetta!
