Located about 15 minutes outside of Alpharetta at the intersection of Roswell Road and South Atlanta Street lies Old Mill Park, a historic destination featuring the Roswell Mill Waterfall and numerous pieces of history. The park is located in Roswell and the trails connect to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Along the bank off the trail bordering Vickery Creek you can find historic Civil War ruins from the old Roswell Manufacturing Mills that were built in 1839 and 1853 and later destroyed by Union Forces in 1864.

The mill constructed in 1853 was rebuilt after its destruction, but later destroyed again by a fire in 1926. At the center of Old Mill Park lies the historic Roswell Mill Waterfall which was created when the creek was dammed to provide hydroelectric power, but now is a perfect spot to cool off during the Summer. The beautiful scenery also provides many local photographers a perfect backdrop to capture the rustic southern charm of Roswell.
