Centennial High School Overview

Centennial High School is a public college preparatory and career technology high school located just north of Atlanta. This high school consists of about 1,800 students with diverse backgrounds and ethnic groups, contributing to the school’s learning environment. Centennial High School is home to the Knights and its school colors are blue and black.

Centennial offers a competitive school athletics program that frequently competes for regional and state titles in a variety of sports. In 2024, the Centennial Football team made the GHSA playoffs for the second straight year. In the same year, both the girls and boys tennis teams received All-State honors and the boys lacrosse team became the State runner-up.

Centennial High School is considered among the top public schools in Fulton County due to its range of specialty programs. This school is also one of the few schools in Georgia to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

Centennial offers 27 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and 20 Honors-Level courses. These specialty programs range from core curriculum courses like AP Calculus AB to elective courses like AP Studio Art-Drawing. Also, Centennial has 11 IB courses available to students in the IB program.

For college-level courses, Centennial offers 4 college courses on campus. These courses include Georgia State College English 1101 & 1102, Georgia Tech Linear Algebra 1554, and Georgia Tech Calculus 2551.

Centennial High School has received many school awards since its inception. In 2024, Centennial was recognized as a GA DOE AP Humanities School, GA DOE AP STEM Achievement School, and an AP School of Distinction. Also, Niche.com ranked Centennial High School 43rd out of 423 public high schools on their Best College Prep Public HIgh Schools in Georgia list.
