Chattahoochee High School Overview

Chattahoochee High School is a comprehensive public school in the Fulton County School System and is located in Johns Creek. The school is known as the Chattahoochee Cougars and features royal blue and gold school colors. Chattahoochee opened its school doors in 1991 and now serves almost 2,000 students from diverse backgrounds and ethnic groups. Taylor Road Middle School is the only middle school in Fulton County Schools that serves as a feeder school into Chattahoochee High School.

Chattahoochee features high-level athletic and academic programs. The school has won state championships in the academic bowl, baseball, men’s basketball, boy’s and girl’s tennis, football, science olympiad, debate and many other school programs!

Academic Summary

Chattahoochee High School consistently ranks among the best public schools in Georgia. US News ranks Chattahoochee as the 12th best public high school in their Best Public High Schools in Georgia list. Chattahoochee High School offers 32 Advanced Placement (AP) courses in both core curriculum and student elective classes. In 2023, 834 Hooch students took AP exams with 41% scoring a 5!

Chattahoochee had 3 finalists in the National Foundation Association in the Arts and a student won the gold medal in the Scholastics National for Graphic Design. Also, Hooch had 13 National Merit Scholarship finalists in 2024!
