The Sawnee Mountain Preserve is located in Cumming Georgia and contains over 963 acres of beautiful land and educational amenities. There are 3 trail access points within this park where you can view the wildlife, explore, and witness the amazing views of the Indian Seats once you reach the top of the overlook.

Here you can enjoy the hiking trails, a tree canopy classroom, views of the historic Indian Seats rock formation, a playground, 2 picnic pavilions, rock climbing area, visitor center, and outdoor amphitheater. The forest canopy is especially captivating during the Fall season where you can witness the many leaves change colors to vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds, creating the perfect opportunity for nature photography or family photos!

The trail is also dotted with informational signs so you can learn more about the local wildlife, nature and history of the land. There is a 140-seat outdoor amphitheater tucked into Sawnee Mountain that is available for classes, lectures, and gatherings for large groups. Within the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center you can examine Native American artifacts, educational exhibits about local wildlife, the story behind Sawnee Mountain preservation, local conservationist efforts, and Forsyth County’s stewardship of the land. Nature and adventure programs are also held within the preserve that teach valuable nature skills like kayaking, rock climbing, and canoeing.  No dogs are allowed on the property.
